Privacy notice
Effective October 3, 2026
This notice explains what 1901 Technologies Inc. collects on 1901tech.com, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
Who we are
1901 Technologies Inc. is a Canadian company at 1025 King St E, Unit 107 #1771, Cambridge, ON N3H 3P5, Canada. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors in those places, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This site is not yet available in Quebec.
The person in charge of the protection of personal information is our Privacy Officer, 1901 Technologies Inc., who you can reach at privacy@1901tech.com or at the address above.
What we collect and why
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message, used only to read and reply to your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list, and the form does not ask for marketing consent.
- Spam check. Cloudflare Turnstile checks your browser and IP address to keep bots out of the form. A hidden field also catches bots.
- Approximate location. When a page loads, we look up your country and region from your connection to choose the right cookie defaults. We do not store it on our side, except as part of your saved cookie choice.
- Analytics and advertising. Only as described below, and only as your choices allow.
We do not sell personal information for money. If Marketing is on, the advertising tags described below may count as "sharing" personal information for advertising under California law; you can opt out at any time with the Do Not Sell or Share link.
Cookies and your choices
We group cookies and similar technologies into four categories:
- Essential. Needed for the site and the contact form to work, including the spam check. Always on.
- Functional. Remembers small preferences between visits.
- Analytics. Helps us understand how the site is used (see Analytics).
- Marketing. Lets advertising platforms measure our ads (see Advertising).
Defaults depend on where you are:
- European Union and European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: nothing beyond Essential runs until you accept. No analytics at all, not even anonymous page counts.
- United States: we count anonymous page views without cookies. Analytics cookies, session replays and Marketing stay off until you accept.
- Everywhere else, including Canada: Functional, Analytics and Marketing start on, and you can turn any of them off.
If we cannot tell where you are, we use the strictest setting. You can change your choices at any time with , also linked at the bottom of every page, or use to turn Marketing off. If you turn a category off, the page reloads and those tools stop. We save your choice in your browser's local storage.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of Marketing: Marketing starts off wherever you are, and the cookie banner tells you the GPC signal was honoured. You can still turn Marketing on yourself if you want to.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use the site. Where anonymous page counts are allowed (see the defaults above), PostHog records, without cookies, the page, the site that sent you, campaign tags in the link, your device and browser type, and an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
Only if Analytics is on, PostHog also sets a cookie and local storage so it can recognize a repeat visit, and records clicks, scrolling, page speed and session replays. In replays, everything you type is hidden.
Advertising
Only if Marketing is on, we load the Meta Pixel, the TikTok Pixel and the Google tag for Google Ads. They tell those companies that you visited and that a contact form was sent, so we can see whether our ads work. They never receive your name, your email address or your message. Each company may set its own cookies, may collect information about your activity on this site and on other sites over time, and handles this data under its own privacy policy. Google receives our consent settings through Google Consent Mode.
Who processes data for us, and where
- Cloudflare hosts the site, runs the spam check and delivers contact form messages to our inbox. Cloudflare operates worldwide, so this data may be handled in Canada, the United States or other countries.
- PostHog runs our analytics, in the United States.
- Meta, TikTok and Google receive data only if Marketing is on.
These are the only outside services the site uses. Fonts and all other files are served from our own site, and nothing loads from Meta, TikTok, Google or PostHog unless your choices allow it.
When data is handled outside Canada or your country, it is subject to the laws of that place. We choose providers that protect it to a standard comparable to ours.
Children
This site is for businesses and adults. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (under 16 in the European Union and the United Kingdom). If you think a child has sent us their details, email privacy@1901tech.com and we will delete them.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: as long as we need them to answer you, and no more than 2 years.
- Analytics data: 12 months.
- Your cookie choice: in your browser until you change it or clear your browser's storage.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- give you a copy in a portable format;
- stop using it, or withdraw a consent you gave.
Write to privacy@1901tech.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), or to the data protection authority where you live in the EU or the UK.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update it on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change matters to how we use your information, we will also show a notice on the site.
